Welcome to the “Arrowhead Brigade!” - Officially the 3rd
Brigade (SBCT) 2d Infantry Division, Fort Lewis,
Washington. We look forward to your joining the first Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT). The SBCT is the key component of Army transformation initiated by GEN Eric Shinseki in 1997. Certification of the brigade provides the Army a lethal, deployable, survivable, and mobile option formed around the 10 variants of our trademark Stryker vehicle. We are an Infantry centric unit that fills operational gaps between the Army’s light forces and the heavy forces still fielded with Abrams tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles. Fort Lewis is a great place for you to live and serve. Within easy driving distance are the cities of Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia and is bounded by the Puget Sound, the Olympic Peninsula and the Cascade Mountains. Your assignment to the Arrowhead Brigade provides an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of Army operations, grow in your profession, and to enjoy all the great things the Brigade and Fort Lewis have to offer to today's soldiers and their families.
