ABOUT US

Lewis Family Focus is designed to be integrated with and compliment the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR SOLDIERS AND FAMILIES web site.  It was created to provide Fort Lewis Soldiers and Families with a central portal of information from a web site that is easily accessible and simple to navigate by all persons.  Originating about two years ago, the purpose and goal of this web site has been to put every conceivable bit of information that a family might need at the finger tips of spouses, children, and family members, as well as the soldiers themselves.

Lewis Family Focus was created by Patty Moore, the director of Army Community Service, and fulfills part of the vision for excellent information access.  The objective is to make the lives of our soldiers and their families as stress free and simple as possible by quickly putting them in contact with whatever desired resource they might need.

In 2006, the Center of Excellence came under the management of Lynn Bailey who oversees the entire portal of information.  Two computer lab monitors were added to the staff as well as a web developer.  In May 2006, discussion forums were added to the site as a means of further increasing the ways users can obtain needed information.

Lewis Family Focus provides the latest information available for soldiers and families stationed here at Ft. Lewis and it assists persons in wading through the enormous mound of information that is available over the internet.  Families can find current information regarding local schools, housing, services offered here at Ft. Lewis, even Northwest-unique recreation, as well as details about local Family Readiness Groups and Leaders.
