myLot Discussions on US Navy Submarine Jacket| Lets hear it for the US NAVY! | | American naval ship the USS Nicholas captured five suspected pirates Thursday off the coast of the Seychelles after exchanging fire, according to the U.S. Naval Forces Africa.The Nicholas reported taking fire at 12:27 a.m. local time (8:27pm GMT Wednesday) from a suspected pirate skiff and returned fire before pursuing it and eventually disabling it.At 1:59 a.m. local time, crew from the Nicholas boarded the skiff, found ammunition and multiple cans of fuel and apprehended three men aboard. Two more suspected pirates were captured on the confiscated mother ship.The suspected pirates were taken on board the Nicholas and the skiff was sunk.The suspected pirates will remain in custody pending diplomatic decisions.Pirates have plagued the waters around the Seychelles with increasing regularity in recent years. | | U.S. Navy Recue a 14yo Girl | | Just read this yesterday, a 14 year old girl who suffered a burst appendix while on a cruse ship (didn't get the name of the ship)off the coast of southern California in the pasific Ocean was rescued by the United States Aircraft Carrier The Ronald Ragen. The cruse ship was too far from port to turn back and make it in time to save the young girls life so they put out a distress call and the US Navy came to the rescue! The Carrier was aprox. 500 miles away and steamed twards the cruse ship, when they came close enough to send a chopper (about 150 miles) they air lifted the girl to the carrier where she underwent appendix surgery. She's doing fine and is expected to make a full recovery.

| | story of my mistakable marriage with a us navy | | I got married to a US Navy when i was 21 years old,that was 3 years ago.We met through phone, he happened to be one of my cousin's close friend whose also a US Navy.I was a kinda immature on that time.I though marriage is just like a birthday party that once the party is done,everything will go back to normal but then my relatives and friends made me realize that it will be totally different after and i'm not yet ready.I wanted to back off but i couldnt do it coz everything was ready, our sponsors are mostly politicians so i was thinking of my familys reputation too.My US Navy Filipino guy is divorced, with three children back in San Diego where he based.I liked him coz hes so nice and kind not only to me but to my entire family.
When we got married, he is actually not supposed to be in Philippines because the US Navy was on red alert on that time (May 2004), so theyre not allowed to travel in the Philippines until the election is ended.On that time, he received an information that hes uncle in Hawaii has died, so he told the Navy that he will attend his uncle's funeral for 5 days.He spent in Hawaii for only a day and he flew here in the Philippines and we got married. The Chinese Song-class diesel-powered attack submarine was seen within five miles of the carrier Kitty Hawk and its accompanying warships on Oct. 26, the newspaper said, citing defense officials. The USS New York is built using rubble from the Twin Towers. The USS Arlington is built using rubble from the Pentagon. There is even a warship being built in memory of, Flight 93, the flight that wrecked in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The USS Somerset. When I first heard about the U.S. Navy building these ships, I thought,'How sentimental'. It must be an honor to be be apart of one of these projects. It shows you how strong the citizens of this country can be. You might have knocked us down, but we will pick ourselves up. And like the motto of the USS New York, we will "Never Forget".
